Let Luck Shine in Irvine During Lunar New Year

The Year of the Wood Dragon is upon us, and Irvine is rich with culture, opportunity and activities. Eat, drink, play and celebrate a year of good fortune with the whole family at some of the most popular retail destinations in Irvine.

Guests can experience myriad celebrations from Instagram-worthy photo moments with on-site dragon displays to mocktail bars and face painting. Lion dancers, drum lines, martial arts experts and musicians will perform at Irvine Spectrum Center on Saturday, Feb. 10. The Market Place will feature a host of activities, including face painting, Chinese character name art and balloon twisters on Sunday, Feb.11.

The fun continues with Lunar New Year celebrations at various eateries and restaurants in Irvine. Ready for luck and good fortune? Sip on some boba at Ben Gong’s Tea while visiting The Market Place. Enjoy traditional Chinese dishes such as dim sum and tender pork strips at Capital Dim Sum at Irvine Spectrum Center. Traditional Vietnamese dishes are also always a good choice, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with Phans55 Vietnamese Street Food from Los Olivos Marketplace. Or, pick up groceries for a family dumpling-making at H Mart at Westpark Plaza and Northpark Plaza.
